Season 01, Episode 01 “The Engagement”
An animated comedy about two culturally and ethnically different families who live next door to each other near the U.S.-Mexican border begins with border guard Bud furious about learning his daughter is engaged to J.C., a young Latino man who is a recent college graduate. To Bud’s delight, however, is news that a new anti-immigration law may get J.C. deported.
Pilot – In the series premiere, Rob fires Jamie, his well-intentioned yet forgetful assistant. Later, he decides to support his wife’s idea without knowing what it is.
The Penis Episode: Part I – Part 1 of 2. Patricia hires a male dancer as the family’s live-in nanny. Later, Rob visits an old friend on his way to get a vasectomy.
The Penis Episode: Part II – Part 2 of 2. Rob is mortified when he discovers that his ad for a male enhancement product isn’t limited to Asian countries.
VIP Treatment – Rob discovers that being a celebrity isn’t always rewarding when David Spade is suddenly getting more attention than him.
Cleaning House – Patricia convinces Rob to get rid of his old junk, so he brings in a shaman to help him choose which items have bad energy.
Gaying in Shape – Rob heads to the gym to try to get the attention of other men after Patricia tells him that he’s out of shape.
What’s My Thing? – Rob tries to find his niche that makes him stand out and promises to get Ryan Gosling to attend the opening night of Patricia’s male revue.
Opening Night – In the Season 1 finale, Rob finds his own show unrecognizable after the network interferes. Meanwhile, Patricia waits to see if Rob can get Ryan Gosling to the opening of her show.
Sister City, Part I – The passengers and crew of a private plane traveling from New Orleans to Washington, D.C., are poisoned and the evidence points to Abby’s brother, the aircraft’s missing chef. The episode concludes on “NCIS: New Orleans.”
Sister City: Part Two – A crossover episode that began on “NCIS” concludes with the New Orleans team as they investigate a Russian sleeper agent who was involved with Abby’s brother; Sebastian flies to D.C. to partner with Abby on the case; and Bishop delivers a package after driving all night.
The Olyphant in the Room – Dean spots Timothy Olyphant (as himself) romancing Claire, and feels justified in trying to “win her back” by taking the lead on a case involving her friend, but he resorts to questionable tactics. Meanwhile, Stewart is thrilled to be the subject of a reporter’s feature story, but isn’t so excited after Dean steps in and turns the focus on himself.
